Purina Dog Challenge: May of 2007 - 3rd place
Saturn was born at Lock-Eye Border Collies in Westville, OK .
Michelle from Lock-Eye Border Collies came to Tulsa, with
about ten puppies for testing at the vet in Tulsa. She came to
our office and put them in our pet area, and we picked Saturn.
He and Rowdy got along fine from the beginning.
His Mother is named Smooch because she is so people friendly
and Saturn has a lot of his mothers easy going happy attitude.
He will get in your lap and sit with you for a long time, as long
as you rub his head. If you stop he will nudge you with his nose,
to let you know he wants more. We think he's very smart and I
think he was meant to be with us.
He loves to chase the ball, play flyball, herd sheep, dock diving,
catching the Frisbee and climbing trees after squirrels. He gets
along well with other dogs.
He didn't get to run his first tournament until July of 06 in
Houston, TX because of his strong herding instinct. He liked to
cross over and herd the other dogs, or to make sure he got all
the balls. He seems to have lost most of that and stays very
focused in the flyball ring.
