Bio: Torry was born May 28th 2004 at the farm of Rick and Marguerite Cole in Nowata, Oklahoma. Her given name was “Therese”. Renee’s best friend is also named Therese and the two of them were attending a chuck wagon race in Locust Grove. Torry’s parents were doing a herding exhibition at the race, and had brought some pups along. We were looking for a border collie since we had lost our other border collie a few months prior. Renee came home very excited that she had found a cute puppy with her best friend’s name! We wanted to give “Therese” a Gaelic or Scottish name and we settled on Torry, which is Scottish for “from the craggy hills”. We brought her home on August 7. 2004.
Torry is very play motivated and would rather play than eat! We took her to agility school, but she did not like some of the apparatus, as she is a bit skittish. We were looking for some other activity for Torry to do when we saw a “Dogs Gone Wild” exhibition at Hunter Park in Tulsa. Since Torry is fascinated with tennis balls, flyball seemed a natural for her. We started training her in the summer of 2008 and she ran in her first tournament in Grove, Oklahoma in April 2009. Torry lives in Tulsa with her big brother Ringo and her parents, Neal and Renee.
